Performance

Five stages, one system, delivered through weekly Builds. Designed around biomechanics. Athletic development done differently. Not drills for a sport. Mechanics for a body. Every stage is built on how the human body actually moves, so strength and speed have something real to stand on. Our stages overlap so every athlete trains where they actually are, not just where their age says they should be. It’s not about which stage fits your kid’s age. It’s about which stage fits how they move.

Why The Rec Room

Their first real sport.

Little Athletes is where 3 and 4 year olds get their first taste of real sport-style movement. This isn’t free play; it’s structured, coach-led training designed to build the athletic foundation every kid needs.

Each session introduces running mechanics, jumping technique, throwing and catching fundamentals, and age-appropriate obstacle-course patterns. Kids learn how to listen to a coach, wait their turn, and follow multi-step instructions; all while having a blast.

The pace is fast and the energy is high, but every challenge is scaled so your child feels successful. It’s the perfect bridge between toddler play and real athletic development.

The Development System

Our performance training offers elite, science-based training principles for serious athletes. Everything built through Movers, Foundations, Mechanics, and Integration comes together here, sharpened into proven, high-level programming delivered in an engaging way that keeps athletes motivated and inspired. All performance build programming is written by the owner of The Rec Room, Ty Stone, and built to help athletes push their limits, build relationships with their teammates, and thrive under real competitive intensity.

Stage 01

Movers

Recommended ages 5–7

Where the nervous system understands movement.

Balance, coordination, and body awareness form here. These are the motor patterns every future athletic skill will be built from.

Stage 02

Foundations

Recommended ages 6–9

Where fundamental movement patterns take shape.

Athletes learn the seven fundamental movement patterns. We coach the mechanics of each one from the start, not just the activity.

Stage 03

Mechanics

Recommended ages 8–11

Where movement becomes precise.

Athletes begin refining how they move. Proper alignment, joint control, positioning, and movement quality become the focus of every rep.

Stage 04

Integration

Recommended ages 10–13

Where technique meets intensity.

Learned patterns are tested under real strength and speed. Integration bridges the gap between knowing how to move correctly and producing power with it.

Stage 05

Performance

Recommended ages 13–17

Where mechanics become output.

Everything gets put to full use. Strength, speed, and power are layered onto years of sound movement mechanics. This is training like an athlete, built the right way from the ground up.

Common Questions

Everything you need
to know.

Children develop at different rates, so age alone does not always determine the best training environment. Our overlapping age ranges allow us to place each athlete based on their physical development, experience, confidence, and readiness for the next level of challenge. This helps every child train alongside appropriate peers while progressing at the pace that is right for them.

While in the future we may split into more sport-specific builds (i.e. rotational athletes vs field athletes), our elite performance training will focus on full athletic development. However, our programs will allow for coaches to identify strengths and weaknesses of each specific athlete, and offer variations that strengthen their individualized needs. If there is something you’re specifically looking for, reach out to our staff for private training or specialized build selection.

For our elite performance training, we believe training frequency should coincide with their current sport season. If your child is currently having 3 practices and 2 games a week, we would make a different recommendation for an athlete who is in the off-season. Our owner, Ty Stone, will oversee all elite performance athletes directly, and give individualized recommendations.

Yes, we strongly believe in in-season training that complements and enhances your child’s sport-specific demands. In-season athletes will train with the appropriate frequency and intensity to maintain their strength, power, agility, and other biomotor abilities, without taking away from their ability to perform on the field.

While we will be running on our traditional 45 minute build schedule for all ages, we encourage this group specifically to come 5-10 minutes early to begin warming up while the previous build makes their exit.
